TITLE: Iowa 108, Keokuk County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 108 begins in the City of Delta and proceeds northerly to a junction with Iowa 92 approximately one‑half mile north of the City of Delta.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑108‑0 (1)‑‑2M-54, between the City of Delta and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 108 from Center Street easterly and northerly to the north corporation line of Delta to city jurisdiction on August 26, 1980. To maintain continuity in the Iowa Route Numbering System that portion of Iowa 108 from First Street north to Sixth Street should be removed from its alignment and re-designated as a portion of Iowa 21.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑108‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑54, between Keokuk County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 108 from the north corporation line of the City of Delta northerly to a junction with Iowa 92 near the N ¼ Corner Section 2‑T75N‑R13W to county jurisdiction on August 26, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 108 in Keokuk County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 108 and its extension in Keokuk County as follows:

 

Delta:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at First Street; thence northerly, easterly and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Delta, connecting with an unnamed street; thence north through Section 2‑T75N‑R13W to a point near the N ¼ Corner said Section 2 (junction Iowa 92).

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 108 in Keokuk County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 108 in Keokuk County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

 

Locate Iowa 108 and its exten­sion in Keokuk County as follows:

 

Delta:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at First Street; thence northerly, easterly and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Delta, connecting with an unnamed street; thence north through Section 2‑T75N‑R13W to a point near the N ¼ Corner said Section 2 (junction Iowa 92).
